BONNAROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who do not know what Bonnaroo is, it is a Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. This is its 3rd year. Last year, my husband and I went with a bunch of our friends and it was the best time ever. Our friends bought us the tickets as our wedding present and we deemed the wonderful experience our Honeyroon!!! One of our favorite bands, Widespread Panic, along with Dave Mathews Band, Trey Anastasio, Jack Johnson, The Black Crowes, and The Allman Brothers Band will be headlining this year. I am so excited. Plus so many other great bands.

It is quite a unique setup. There are about 6 stages and there is always music playing. With stage names from "Which Stage", "This Stage" and "That Stage"...really tends to mess with some people, but is damn funny!!! There is always someone worth checking out on at least one stage. The way they have the bands scheduled, it allows you to be able to check out at least some part of the show of whoever you want to see. You just have to decide if you want to miss a show that you are really into to go trek over to another stage to see a show that may or may not be as good as the one you were just at. So many decisions. In the afternoons and the wee hours of the morn...they are also comedy tents set up, which are air conditioned!!! And misting tents...so refreshing!!! Being that the festival is in June, this is great.

This year we are hoping for better weather. Last year, it was miserably hot, and then the next night we got a break with some rain, but all it did was turn soft ground into sloppy mud. LIke frickin Woodstock!!! We stayed covered in mud for a good day and a half, and left our tent and some other muddy belongings to the Bonnaroo gods! Along with several pairs of sandals that were either broken or lost in the mud while walking around from stage to stage. I can deal with some heat....but considering I work with damn mud almost everyday at work, I would rather not deal with anymore of it on my vacation. Thanks to Ivan...we are going to be stocked up on food for this trip. We are breaking into our surplus of MRE's !!! Mmmmm....beef ravioli.

This year we are bringing my brother along for the ride. I hope that this is a memorable event for him as well.

I just want to add, I am not a hippy! Not that there is anything wrong with that. I just have an appreciation of good music and this is a festival that caters to all types of music lovers, from young to old! A weekend of camping and music.....what could be better!!!
